The victory in today's world (2023-2024) is God's. It's not about the state of the United States currency, strength of China or the moral decay of the USA and West in general. It is in it's parts-but in it's whole, the victory is and will be the Lord's. The United States and Europe will be something different than it is in it's present 20 years from now. But God does not change. We must yield to God's plans and pivot to stand for His truth in 2024 in order to leave our children and grand children a more biblically anchored world. My point is simple in that THE VICTORY IS AND WILL BE THE LORD'S and NOT OUR OWN. We all know the story of David and Goliath. Let's read 1 Samuel 17:46-47 which makes clear that God is in control and that despite all of our modern weapons, the victory is of the Lord and not ourselves.
46 "This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,47 and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hand” (1 Samual 17:46-47)
In 1 Samuel David intended that his victory teach that the Lord (Yahweh) is the true God and that He delivers His people. The message is plain and simple. For David, his faith was unwavering and his confidence was unwavering. David intended his victory to demonstrate to "ALL THE EARTH" that 1) The God of Israel exists, and 2) that He delivers His own against overwhelming odds. David's words "THE BATTLE IS LORD'S" put the the contest into proper perspective when Samuel wrote 1 Samuel back in 930 B.C and later.
IN CLOSING: Goliath (like many rulers today) threatened to feed David to the vultures and the wild "BEASTS" (v.44). Most of us feel as though we too are about to be fed into the hands of some gian authority. But David's response was different than most of ours. He battled in God's name. David's goal was the glory of God. In David's own words: "THAT ALL THE EARTH MAY KNOW THAT THERE IS A GOD IN ISRAEL" (v.46). David's miraculous victory over Goliath would point the nations to God and serve an evangelistic purpose. David's purpose was also to help God' people see that human weaponry alone was not the means of deliverance, because "THE BATTLE IS THE LORD'S" (v.47). In the end Goliath was not fighting against David; he was defying God. Since the battle belonged to the Lord, He would GIVE Goliath into David's HANDS. So, why should we think any differently of our circumstances today if we simply muster the courage to stand up and trust in the Lord?
